St. Michael’s Theatre in County Wexford is a community arts centre serving the town of New Ross and the wider South East of Ireland. Boasting a main theatre, a cinema and a studio among other spaces, St. Michael’s Theatre stages around 300 artistic events of all kinds per year.
St. Michael’s Theatre is a beacon of the arts for the New Ross community as the home to three amateur community theatre companies, an in-house musical society and the only professional community art gallery in the South East. The theatre’s main space is its 300-seat theatre – proudly, it has the only stage in the South East large enough to host large ballet productions. The arts centre also hosts a 50-seat studio venue for rehearsals and smaller productions, and two visual arts spaces.
Being such an all-encompassing space, St. Michael’s Theatre’s output caters to all artistic tastes, ranging from drama and film to ballet and rock concerts. Some of its quirkier offerings include foreign language arthouse films and exhibitions for the active retired. With so much to offer, you’re bound to find an enriching experience here.
