About The Specials
One of Britain's most exciting bands, even to this day, The Specials are one of the original masters of ska music and maintain a live show that's second to none well into the 21st century. Their distinctive “rude boy” style helped to define them as they released seven consecutive top 10 singles and the unemployment inspired chart topper “Ghost Town”.
Since 1993, the group have reformed to tour heavily, though without original song-writer Jerry Dammers who left to pursue political activism. During that time they have visited venues ranging from the likes of theatres in York to London's O2 Academy Brixton.
