Since opening in the West End in 1999, Mamma Mia! has become a global sensation. The musical continues to run on London's West End at the Novello Theatre, and Mamma Mia! regularly embarks on UK and international tours.

The story of Mamma Mia! was developed by Catherine Johnson with contribution from Benny Andersson and Ulvaeus of ABBA. It was ‘The Winner Takes It All’ that inspired Johnson to transform ABBA’s greatest hits into a theatrical show. Johnson worked over 20 of their best-selling singles into the plot, including the title track 'Mamma Mia!'. The show's soundtrack also includes chart toppers like ‘Take a Chance on Me’, ‘Money, Money, Money’ and ‘One of Us’.

Completing the creative dream team, Phyllida Lloyd directs Mamma Mia! and Judy Craymer produces. Mamma Mia! also features a fantastic cast, worthy of bringing the legendary songs of ABBA back to the stage. It's no wonder that tickets to watch and sing-along to Mamma Mia! continue to sell today.

Mamma Mia! centres around bride-to-be Sophie, who lives with her mum Donna on a sunny Greek island. She dreams of having her unknown father walk her down the aisle, so secretly invites three of Donna’s former lovers to the wedding.
