See Heathers the Musical at the New Wimbledon Theatre
Following record breaking runs in London when it premiered, Heathers the Musical returns to the capital for more teenage drama. Based on the 1988 film, the show has the same dark humour we all fell in love with, as Veronica and the Heathers come to life on stage.
Set in Westerberg High, Veronica Sawyer is your average student who dreams of being popular. Just like the Heathers. One day, after using her skills of forgery to get the clique out of detention, and they soon take her under their wings. Meanwhile, she meets the cool and aloof new student JD and soon finds herself in a whirlwind romance. Except JD isn’t your average high school boyfriend. Instead he teaches Veronica about the power of vengeance, and the two embark on a quest to take down the popular cliques for good - even if that means murder.
The cult film featuring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater was a hit back in the eighties. The scrunchies and plaid skirts, the shoulder-padded blazers and knee high socks, Heathers was one of the most iconic teen movies of the last century. You can now enjoy it live on stage in London, complete with an unforgettable rock soundtrack.
Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy’s musical features direction from Andy Fickman and choreography by Gary Lloyd. The creative team bring a stylish and sleek production of Heathers the Musical, running in London’s New Wimbledon Theatre from 22nd - 26th September as part of its UK tour.
