Eric Clapton is perhaps the most influential guitarist in rock and blues history. Since bursting onto the scene in the early 1960s Clapton has rocked the world with his virtuosic yet tender guitar-playing for over 55 years. Now 24 studio albums into his career, Clapton shows no signs of stopping.
Clapton has had a long and illustrious career in rock music and is regularly heralded as one of the greatest guitar players of all time. He bears the distinction of being the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once for his solo work and twice as a member of The Yardbirds and Cream.
Responsible for hits such as ‘Sunshine of Your Love’, ‘White Room’ and ‘Crossroads’ as a member of Cream in the mid-1960s, Clapton has gone on to have an impressive solo career while collaborating with other influential artists including Bob Marley.
Some of Clapton’s most beloved tracks he has released since going solo include ‘Layla’, ‘My Father’s Eyes’ and ‘Tears in Heaven’, which featured in the soundtrack for the 1991 film Rush and won three Grammy Awards.
In October 2018, Clapton released his 24th studio album Happy Xmas, a Christmas album featuring characteristically bluesy interpretations of classic Christmas tracks. In May 2019 he played his only UK dates at the stunning Royal Albert Hall in London, a venue he has performed at over 200 times. Don’t miss out on your chance to catch this legendary rock musician in concert while you still can.
