Blood Brothers tells the captivating and moving tale of twins Mickey and Eddie. Separated at birth, the brothers grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences...
Blood Brothers first debuted at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1983. While it enjoyed only modest success, it soon transferred to London's West End at the Lyric Theatre. Running until October that year, it won an Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
After many a UK tour, Blood Brothers enjoyed a revival at the Noel Coward Theatre before transferring to the Phoenix Theatre in 1991. There, it ran for over 10,000 performances, becoming the West End's third longest-running musical ever. It finally closed in November 2012.
Featuring songs like 'Marilyn Monroe', 'Shoes on the Table' and 'Tell Me It's Not True', Blood Brothers has lit the musical career of many actors. Award nominees include Con O'Neill and Melanie C of Spice Girls Fame.
In addition to its UK success, Blood Brothers has been produced in theatres across the world including in Broadway, Europe, Australia and Asia. While on Broadway, it attracted six Tony nominations including for Best Musical. All in all, there's nowhere in the world Blood Brothers hasn't had success on tour.
